Common Symptoms of Pregnancy

Symptoms of pregnancy vary from one woman to another. While some women do not experience early pregnancy symptoms, others do. Some of them would experience the symptoms six to 12 days after ovulation, i.e. implantation of egg on the uterine wall. Learn about the pregnancy indicators whether you want to get pregnant or delay it for a while. It is important that you are aware of its symptoms.
Menstrual Cycle
One of the most prominent symptoms of pregnancy is missing a menstrual cycle. Most women learn about their pregnancy after missing their period. If you find your menstrual cycle delayed by two to three weeks, it is time to get a pregnancy test.
Although a missed period should not always be taken as an indication of pregnancy, but if it is accompanied by related symptoms, you should get a blood test done. Women having polycystic ovarian syndrome may also have delayed or irregular periods.
Implantation bleeding
Quite a few women have implantation bleeding and it can be one of the earliest pregnancy symptoms. It is the result of a fertilised embryo entering the uterine wall. Some of the cells that are removed from vagina can cause slightly pink or brown stain. This problem can be accompanied by cramps too. But this bleeding can be due to altered menstruation too. Change pills for birth control can also result in this and even an infection. So, get in touch with your doctor for knowing the right cause of implantation bleeding.
Nausea
A very common early sign of pregnancy is feeling nauseous. This can happen a little after you have conceived. Nausea experienced during pregnancy is also known as morning sickness.
Another early symptom of pregnancy is feeling of nausea. Soon after you have conceived there may be frequent feeling of vomiting. Nausea in pregnancy is referred to as 'morning sickness'. Even though, nausea is a very common symptom of pregnancy, some women don't experience it at all.
Headache
In the early stages of pregnancy, frequent headaches are quite common. The increase in hormonal level caused by pregnancy leads to headache.
Heightened sense of smell
In some women, the sense of smell becomes heightened. When pregnant, most women become very sensitive to smell and react to any smell around them. It seems to be troubling to them if there is the slightest of scent around them.
If you have any of these symptoms, get a pregnancy confirmation through a blood test.
